Alright, if you guys believe that “the night” is the episode where Wander gets tortured the most in the series, get a load of “the box”. From some episodes, we see Wander go insane over something for few seconds or minutes. Here, he goes through it for three days. THREE. FREAKIN. DAYS. And worst part is not only he goes through the suffering of avoiding the box, but would even have hallucination, restlessness, and nightmare on those past days. Gee, I don’t even know what being you is anymore and probably go insane the same way Wander was on the third day. It’s as if you’re in a loop where you can never get a rest on terrible anxiety. You just suddenly feel as if you loose control on your body and just let your lost mind do whatever it wants.

Wander’s suffer in “the night” lasted only one single night before he fully rest the next morning. “The box”, he barely slept…at ALL! So you can understand me exactly why I feel bad for Wander the most in this episode. If you have anxiety or any emotional problems, you feel as if you’re Wander during the episode. You barely slept, you struggled avoiding the box, hallucinations, even accidentally hurt your best friend who was always trusting you not to open it. It’s probably one of the most horrible feeling you can experience and you can’t just think that he’s overreacting over a small object.

I think the difference is that in The Night he experiences physical torture in a way that he’s been immune to until this point, and in The Box he experiences emotional torture…via himself. In both cases it’s brought on by his overreacting, but he gets physically injured because he goes overboard trying to help Sylvia, and he only becomes emotionally overwhelmed because he can’t control his impulses well. So I can see how it’s easier to feel bad for him in The Night. That said, if you’d ask Wander which was worse, I think he’d still go with The Box. It’s hard when you’re your own enemy. Anxiety is no joke and whether its brought on by something stupid doesn’t matter.
